How Ford depreciation works

Like most vehicles, a Ford loses the most value early: roughly a fifth in the first year, about 40 percent by year three and around half by year five. After that the drop slows down. Trucks and some performance models tend to hold value better than average sedans, so treat this as a middle-of-the-road estimate.

How to use it

Methodology and sources

The estimate applies published average new-car depreciation figures (about 20 percent year one, ~40 percent by year three, ~50 percent by year five) as a retained-value curve against the price you enter. It is deliberately simple and runs entirely in your browser. It does not pull live market prices.

What this tool will not tell you

It is not an appraisal and does not know your car’s mileage, condition, trim, options or your local market — all of which move real value significantly.
